TTD to Observe Pallavotsavam Fete on July 24

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will observe the 300-year-old traditional Pallavotsavam festival on July 24, coinciding with the Uttarabhadra Nakshatram, which marks the birth star of the Maharaja of Mysore.
Following the Sahasra Deepalankara Seva, the Utsava idols Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi will be taken on a procession to the Karnataka Choultry.
After reaching the Karnataka Choultry, the deities will be welcomed with special Harathi by Karnataka State Government representatives and the Maharaja of Mysore.
According to a press release by the TTD, the Maharaja of Mysore made significant donations to the Srivari temple, including land, jewelry, and various vahanams such as Garuda, Gaja, Mutyapu Pandiri, Sarvabhupala, Aswa, Suryaprabha, and Chandraprabha.
Additionally, he contributed an ivory palanquin used during the Brahmotsavam.
The Maharaja also initiated the tradition of offering five kilograms of ghee daily to the Brahma Deepa, Maharaja Deepa, and Akhanda Deepa in the Srivari temple on behalf of the Mysore Samsthanam.
The tradition of Navaneeta Harathi every morning before the Suprabhata Seva of Srivaru continues uninterrupted.
As part of the celebrations, a special asthanam is held at 7.30 pm every month on the day of Uttarabhadra Nakshatra at Srivari Temple. Similarly, on Ugadi, Diwali, and Anivara Asthana, special Harathi ceremonies are conducted in honor of the Maharaja of Mysore.
Also during the Utlotsavam on Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Sri Malayappa Swamy visits the Karnataka Choultry to receive customary honors, the pres release said.
